Retail Merchandising and Management

Grades: 12

Prerequisites: Marketing and/or Instructor Consent

Description: This class has been developed for students with an interested in gaining an understanding of the multibullion-dollar retail industry. The students will spend the first semester in the classroom learning about general retailing, business organization, merchandising, advertising and promotion, selling, store operations, and management. Students folow this course with marketing internship, applying what they have learned to operating the school store. Students will rotate through a variety of positions from cashier and inventory control to advertising and management.
