A total of 10 service hours is required of each student
government member, divided as follows:
Summer: 1 hours
First Quarter: 3 hours
Second Quarter: 3 hours
Third Quarter: 3 hours (plus Blood Drive commitments)
In addition, 5 service points must be achieved through service
inside student government.
Why? ... Because student leadership includes a commitment to
helping others.
How? ...
-
Get an ORANGE form in the Main Office
-
Describe the service completed
-
Get a signature from the service leader, organizer, or your
committee VP
-
Some things will simply have a sign-in sheet that the committee VP
turns in, you do NOT need to fill out a form for there
What is acceptable...
-
Any community service sponsored by student government, especially
those coordinated through the Community Relations Committee
-
Service to the community that is done through other agencies
-
Miscellaneous requests from Committee Vice Presidents (treats for
staff appreciation, working booths, decorating the school, etc)
-
Before and after school services performed for the school (tutoring,
setting up equipment, etc)
-
Leaving the school to do service that represents Tremper (visiting
Middle Schools, coaching a team from an Elementary or Middle School)
What is NOT acceptable...
-

-

specifically pertain to serving the community (i.e. assisting with
music, teaching catechism)

-
Mandatory student government activities (Blood Drive, Homecoming,
etc)
Failure to meet service hour requirements will result in a strike
