Tremper High School incorporates student input when
setting school direction, developing new programs, hiring staff
members, and creating school-wide activities. To involve the
full student body with such tasks, a student government system
exists. We are organized under three branches of government:
the Executives, the Congress, and the Judiciary. All members
of Congress serve on committees, which are led by Executive Cabinet
leaders. Altogether, our student government actively involves
over 250 students as members.
To
become involved in Congress, students submit applications for one of
the seven committees in the spring and are selected by the new
Executive team. Members are expected to volunteer a specified
number of hours to conduct activities and help in the community.
Freshmen membership will be selected in September.
Representatives
are expected to communicate regularly with assigned advisories.
Each advisory identifies one Representative to meet weekly with
Student Government and gather information to report back to the
advisory.
To become an
Executive Officer, elections are conducted each spring. To become
an Executive Cabinet leader, applications must be submitted just
before spring break. To become one of the Judges, an application
and interview process occurs in the spring with school
administrators and the Police Liaison Officer.
