Reality Check Day
On March 19th, students from Mrs. Pacetti's, Mr. Fiedler's, and Mrs. Wepfer's Personal Finance classes, as well as Mr. Dollar's Consumer class participated in the 7th Quarterly Tremper Financial Literacy- Reality Check Day. With over 165 students participating, this was the largest group ever! Students had to "live" for a month on the salary of the career they had chosen at the start of the quarter. Students were randomly given a life scenario and had to budget their money and pay for all of the realities of life on their own. Over 50 community volunteers manned the various reality stations to offer: cars, houses, apartments, furnishings, clothing, groceries, utilities, insurance, and more. They also offered services including : savings, investments, child care, and credit counseling.
