Finishing the Season with a Splash

By ISABELLE MOLINA & CORA SHIRCEL

On Friday, October 27th, and Saturday, October 28th, many of Tremper’s Swimmers and Divers competed in their last meet of the 2017 season at either the JV conference invite or the Varsity Conference meet. The JV invite took place at Case on Friday where many underclassmen experienced their very first big competition. To finish out their successful season, many upperclassmen swam their best times, with seniors leaving their last mark on the team.

At the Varsity Conference, Tremper finished second out of a total of eight teams, only points behind the winning team, the Oak Creek Knights. Though Tremper’s varsity swimmers could not carry on a three-peat conference win following the last two seasons, coach Joe Kosman was very pleased with the team’s energy and performance the team carried. For some, this was the last meet of the season, but many swimmers and divers will be continuing on to the sectional meet next Saturday, and possibly qualifying for state the weekend after. Tremper’s Swim and Dive captains hope to see a large student section attending sectionals to cheer them on in what might be their last races this year.
