Chimamanda Adichie, the author of We Should All Be Feminists, gives her point of view on feminism through telling her own stories. This novel is a short, eye-opening read on Adichie’s interpretation of feminism. Reading the title, one would think that the author’s motive is to persuade the reader to believe their opinion. After reading, you will realize this is not her intention at all.
Adichie surprises her audience with heartfelt stories from her past, helping readers to discover her goal was to spread her idea on feminism: all women and men working together to be better. We must all strive to do better to not only make feminism normal, but to get to a point where subconscious gender roles do not exist. If you are at all interested in gaining another perspective of feminism, we highly suggest picking up this book or another novel written by Chimamanda Adichie.
